Method 1:

lower your 6th string from an E to a D by matching it with the open 4th string. (the 6th string D will be an octave lower than the 4th string D.

Method 2:

lower your 6th string from an E to D by matching it with the 5th string. Match the note on the 6th string 7th fret, with the open 5th string.
