Default Capo technical question

Hi there everyone,

I'm thinking about buying a capo to be able to practice some more Oasis songs. I intend to buy one that suits on both guitars of mine, my Squier Strat and a Höfner HC 502 acoustic guitar (well, actually only the strat is truly mine, the other is borrowed from my sister).

Since being different in shape and size I'm wondering if one capo can be used on both guitars or if it might be necessary to buy two, one for each guitar? I've never played with one so I'm absolutely clueless about the technical quality of a capodaster, I've only read something on the net and have seen there are big differences in the price.

Can anyone give me some hints for that?

Thanx

Ronny

Hey Ronny,

That Hofner is a classical guitar right? Nylon strings.... wider neck?

If so, the capo size will matter. For instance on my Takamine classical the capo won't cover all 6 strings. I've never used a capo with a classical guitar, but they do make them.

Regarding capos and price. Some are definitely over priced.

My opinion based on what I've used...

I dont care for these too much, though they do work and are very cheap.....

These work good..... (but there is a cheaper one that works just as good... see next pic)

These are cheap and work great. I prefer it to the more expensive one above...

These are expensive, but awesome capos...

I have one now, and use it all the time.

Of the examples my favs are the bottom 2.

Hi Dan, that's right. See here.

I've seen all your mentioned capo model there too and I think I'd like those clip models better.

Do you think this one will suffice for both guitars? It's similar to your second mentioned.

Regards

Ronny

Well, I think you'd have to get a "classical guitar capo", for the 1 guitar. It may work for both, but I've never tried so I don't know for sure.

Dan
Yesterday a friend gave me a simple capo that is mechanically similar to the one mentioned before and it works fine for both guitars. At first I feared that it would not fit to the acoustic guitar but fortunately I was wrong.

So now I'm up to practive more Oasis songs...
